Darkest Day in Winter Solstice – A Poem Inspired

Winter Solstice

Today is the longest, darkest day in the northern hemisphere here and as I light a candle and sit with it, a poem came to my head:

Sit in Joy,
Sit in Happiness,
Sit in Darkness,
Seek the Joy in Darkness

When the light from the candle
Wavers in the darkness
Sit with the light within
that sits in Joy & Happiness

It has been months of darkness in the winter season here in the north, and it has been most “lightful” moments in my life these months.

Light and happiness with my friend’s postings on facebook all the way from from Singapore, and with friends who make a difference, who brave the challenges to fulfill her dreams here. When we can sit with what is happening in our lives right here, right now, be present with it, there are much light, much light that we can absorb and light us up from within.

I guess that’s what inspires this poem, whatever that can wavers from the outside, take time to sit with yourself, know that there is always joy and happiness, as we seek for them, sit with them just for this moment.
